General Notes
- Classes are held on Saturday mornings.
- Now enrolling students, ages 3 1/2 to 18 years old.
- Tuition is $260 per 15 week session. Sibling discount available.
- Students may enroll after session start. Tuition will be prorated.
- Small classes: Preschool class is limited to 16 students with 2 teachers. All other classes average about 12 students.
- Preschool class is taught by a teacher experienced in early childhood education.
- Extracurricular activities include Chinese arts and culture.
- Both Mandarin phonetic system (Zhuyin Fuhao) and the Hanyu Pinyin Romanization system are taught in all levels.
- The 2021-2022 school year was fully remote and we are re-evaluating a return to in person. More to follow in August 2022 on this.
Preschool Class
- For ages 3 1/2 to 5 years old.
- Fun activities, including Chinese songs, games, story-telling, and arts and crafts.
- Focuses on basic listening and speaking skills.
Beginner Level I Classes
- For ages 5 and up. Also includes non-native speakers.
- Reading, listening, speaking, writing both phonetic system and the Hanyu Pinyin learning style.
- Basic conversation skills.
Beginner Level II Class
- Basic conversation skills.
- Reading and writing basic Chinese words and sentences.
- Learning to use Chinese dictionary.
Intermediate Class
- Intermediate conversation skills.
- Short essay composition (<100 words).
- Using Chinese names of countries and major cities.
- Reading and writing complex communication patterns.
Advanced Class
- Advanced conversation skills.
- Long essay compositions (200+ words).
- Intermediate conversation skills.
- Reading poems, history and ancient writings.
- Reading comprehension and translation.
Adult Conversation Class (available depending on class size)
- Pronunciation.
- Vocabulary.
- Basic grammar.
- Chinese culture & customs.
- Practical conversation for everyday usage and travel.
